The sixth edition of our popular Vivaldi Concerto Festival features House of Time regulars joined by stunning soloists: Edson Scheid, described by the Boston Globe as a “virtuoso violinist” who “amazes with his seemingly superhuman technique”; Beth Wenstrom, described by The New Yorkeras “elegant and sensual, stylishly wild”; and Swiss-American violinist Aniela Eddy. The Red Priest’s endlessly inventive works include the favorite double violin concerti in A Major and D minor as well as the bubbly oboe and violin concerto in Bb Major. House of Time is joined by viola da gamba virtuoso Adam Young for a program that shines a light on works by one of the king's favorite musicians, a child prodigy when she first moved to court. The refinement and elegance of Versailles comes through vividly in Elisabeth Jacquet's gorgeous sonatas and trios. Also included is one of Rameau's earliest masterpieces, the "Piece de clavecin en concert" in C minor, a work that treats the harpsichord and viola da gamba in dramatically inventive ways.

Join House of Time on a musical exploration of an extended family of geniuses: Johann Sebastian Bach, his son C.P.E. Bach, and George Telemann, the elder Bach's friend and C.P.E.'s godfather. You'll hear sublime chamber works from J.S. Bach, as well as Telemann's Paris Quartet in E Minor. The younger Bach's "Sanguineus et Melancholicus" is a brilliant and witty musical dialogue between an optimist and a pessimist .
